Example Concentration in Scientific Computing for Chemistry Majors

DRAFT STATEMENT --- SUBJECT TO FINAL APPROVAL OF THE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT

Chemistry Majors can fulfill Requirement C of the Concentration in Scientific Computing, in accordance with the college rule requiring 2-3 courses that count toward the major and the concentration, by taking any two of: Chemistry 305, Bryn Mawr's Chemistry 322, and an anticipated course to be developed by Josh Schrier; as well as any other course listed under Requirement C. In the event that Bryn Mawr's Chemistry 322 is not offered often enough to allow students to complete this requirement before Josh Schrier's course is available, we anticipate allowing a substitution such as Biology 300 or Physics 304. (E.P.C. and the faculty have approved this short-term exception to the normal rule that 2-3 courses must count toward the major and concentration.)
